WESLEY DAY CELEBRATION AT METHODIST CHURCH OF NIGERIA, DIOCESE OF UYO.

Wesley Day Celebration is a routine annual event commemorating by the Methodists the New birth experiences of the WESLEY Brothers – John and Charles. It also emphasized the history of the Wesley brothers whom God used in the 16th and 17th centuries to correct the ills of England.

John and Charles Wesley co-formed the Methodist Movement which has three cardinal pillars of Doctrine, Spirit and Discipline.

May 24; of every year is set aside by the Methodist church to reflect the works of the Wesley. That is why Methodist church Nigeria, Diocese of Uyo organized this annual event to strengthen the faith of their members based on the enormous works by the Wesleys.

His Grace Most Rev. Chimezuo O. NnaNwakpa, Arc Bishop of Uyo Arc Diocese welcoming Methodist faithfuls to Wesley Day Celebration urged members to follow the footsteps of the Wesleys in propagating the ideals of Jesus.

 

At the occasion, various hymns and songs composed by John and Charles Wesley were rendered by different circuits that make up Uyo Diocese.
